YUKON COALITION
Right to Learn
Education is supposed to open doors for people, not shut them out.
"In my recent travels to the Northwest Territories and the Yukon, I have seen firsthand the reality students with disabilities are facing..."
"In remote northern communities, a person with a disability may not even have the option to attend school.
The support is simply not there.
We can and must do better for this and future generations of Canadians with disabilities."
Marie-Claude Landry, Ad.E., Chief Commissioner of the Canadian Human Rights Commission

HOW WE CAN HELP
ABOUT US
We are among the more than 500 families working to secure equitable educational opportunity for children and youth with disabilities within the
Yukon's public education system.
We believe these students have something valuable to offer, and that everyone deserves a fair chance
at developing their full potential in a consistent, secure, and responsive learning environment.

We aim to support families and education professionals alike by:
Researching and analyzing the practices that make it hard for the kids who need help the most, to get the help they need.
Creating opportunities to address barriers to relational fairness in the administration of public education.
